“There will always be detours in the fascinating game called life. Find the path to your heart’s desires, and stay on course.” ―
We all want to see a future in which the stray dog population in Sri Lanka is under control, along with it becoming a Rabies Free country. We also wish to be able to change the publics perception on animal welfare and pet ownership. We hope to be an active part of cultivating a better Sri Lanka for the animals and the people and we hope you will help us by joining in our fight and our mission.
Through our CNVR programs we aim to get a control on the over population of stray dogs in Sri Lanka, as well as vaccinating them against rabies. Rabies is a 100% fatal disease in dogs but is also 100% preventable with vaccinations. Rabies also kills approximately 59,000 people a year around the world.
We actively work towards rescuing injured and abandoned dogs that would otherwise die on the streets. We provide them with much needed medical care and nurse them back to health, whilst socializing them and getting them ready for adoption. Thus giving several dogs their second chance at life.
We work very hard to find the best possible homes for our rescued and rehabilitated dogs. Whether it be locally or globally, we get them to the best homes. Re-homing is the only way possible to make sure that we have space for new rescues. We work hard at making sure every dog at the shelter has a good quality of life and over-crowding is avoided at all costs.
With each of us our mission to fight for this cause is personal, which is why you can count on us to execute it beyond our best capabilities. We have pledged ourselves and our time towards this and we promise to deliver.
Our dogs at the shelter aren’t kenneled individually. Once healthy they are socialized with each other and have a lot of room to run and play. Which means not only do they receive good food and medical attention, but they also have far better mental health and stimulation. Making your work easier for you after adoption and their lives with us the happiest it could ever be.
Opening up just before Covid-19 shook the world, we were hit with several struggles left and right. Each of which we grew and learned from. Running a rescue and a shelter isn’t easy but with your never ending support through the whirlwind which has been the last few years we are confident that we are here to stay.
